A Shibori (tie-dye) Workshop at MKB
A workshop on Arimatsu Narumi Shibori was held over the weekend of June 17th and 18th, 2023 at the Museum der Kulturen Basel (MKB) during the ART BASEL week. These classes, held periodically at the museum, provide a luxurious opportunity to learn Shibori techniques directly from MURASE Hiroyuki (CEO, designer and creative director of the lifestyle brand Suzusan).
With instruction given in German, 13 participants (max:15) attended this session, and the two days were filled with enthusiastic and dedicated students.

MKB is one the leading anthropological museums in Europe.
MKB exhibitions cover contemporary and everyday subjects.
They convey cultural commonalities as well as differences and thereby contribute to the understanding of one’s own as well as other cultures.
The museum has one of the greatest Shibori sample collections outside Japan.
